In the beginning of the game you start out as Redford, “the little guy that started it all.” The goal of the game is to collect coins that boost you to the top and after you get to a height of 80,000 you clear the stage, although can continue playing on any given stage to increase your score. Your height is shown in red in the upper right hand corner and your coins are tracked in the upper left hand corner next to the icon of a coin.

For ever 100 coins you collect, you receive 1 Mega Points (MP). MP are used to purchase various items in the store. You can also purchase additional MP in the store with real life currency. With MP you can purchase additional characters, Save Stars and other boosts and wallpapers. The characters and wallpapers are just for fun and to add more variety to the game. It appears that without boosts, each character has the same abilities. Boosts can be collected throughout levels and each provide you with various powers temporarily. Each boost does something different to help you and can be upgraded with MP in the store. There is a power shield, a lucky blast, a pair of anti-gravity boots, a magnet, an action umbrella, a turbo balloon and a pair of jump boots.

Aside from boosts there are also certain coins and colored stars that help you more than regular coins. Little coins give you a smaller boost than big coins whereas colored coins and stars give you and even bigger boost than big coins.
