Editor's Thought
Flashcards are one of the most effective way of studying and is recommended by many professors, although carrying around a huge stack of notecards can be obnoxious and difficult but with this application it makes it much easier to manage flashcards and easier to study.

On the home page of the Flashcard Touch application, there are two tabs; “My Flashcards” and “Browse for more…”. My flashcards is exactly what it sounds like, a list of various flashcards that you have made, in the application. Under this tab you can organize the flashcards in alphabetical order, by ones you have an have not memorized, or in a list of all the flashcards you have in this tab. Adding a new flashcard is easy, you simply tap the plus sign button and enter the term on the top line and the definition on the lines below, like you would on a normal flashcard. One of my favorite features of this application is that it gives you the option of using one of many online definitions it provides for you.
When studying the terms from this tab you can choose to either have the term hidden on the back or have it written on the top line. By not having the term hidden from the back this is a great way to study and by removing the term from the back, it is a great way to memorize the terms, especially for visual learners. To flip from the front to the back of a card you can either slide the bar in the top right hand corner from front to back or tap the arrow in the bottom right hand corner. If you would like to rearrange the order of the cards, you can tap the two arrows in the bottom left hand corner and it will randomly shuffle the cards, using a technique that helps memorization but also making it a little more challenging for you to memorize them.
Under the browse for more tab, there are 8 categories with various subcategories. The 8 main categories are languages & vocabulary, math & science, history & geography, arts & literature, study level, standardized tests, professional & trade, fun & interesting. Each one of these categories has numerous subcategories in which other who use this application have tagged their flashcards in the appropriate category online for others to access. This is a great way to study different topics with another persons notes and ideas to help broaden you’re knowledge of many topics.
