First choose your player and then the family you want to play against (you will automatically start with the Anderson family if you have not played before). The game begins with a face-off in which the question is asked and whichever opponent taps the buzzer first, gets the first guess at answering the question. You have 20 seconds to come up with an answer and if you guess correctly you can either choose to continue playing or pass to the other team. If you choose to continue and you guess correctly, you get to continue guessing until you have guessed 3 incorrect answers or have guessed all possible answers. In the case that you guess 3 incorrect answers before you have guessed all the correct answers, the other team has a chance to guess. After all answers have been guessed, scores are totalled and whatever team ends up with the most points wins that round and the process starts over with the next question. As play progresses the questions get harder and rounds are worth more points.
